TV Compatibility Program

LodgeNet’s TV Compatibility Program helps make purchasing decisions easier by identifying TV or HD (high-definition) display models that:

1) Are capable of communicating with LodgeNet’s free-to-guest (FTG) and video-on-demand (VOD) entertainment systems. This means the TV or HD display supports the full functionality of the LodgeNet system and can deliver an easy-to-use experience for your guests.

2) For HD displays, incorporate Pro:IdiomTM, the industry standard for digital content security. This means the HD display can deliver the full range of HD entertainment including HD premium satellite programming and “still in theaters” video-on-demand (VOD).

If your hotel is currently installed with either a LodgeNet or an On Command system, we strongly encourage you to contact your LodgeNet sales representative or call 1-888-LODGENET at least 120 days prior to purchasing new TVs or HD displays to verify you have the appropriate terminals and installation kits for interfacing that hardware with your existing system.

LodgeNet has authorized eligible TV and HD display vendors to use the following logos in identifying TVs or displays that have been tested and found compatible with a LodgeNet interactive TV platform:

Indicates the TV has been tested and found compatible with LodgeNet‘s NTSC (analog) interactive TV platform.
See List of NTSC Compatible TVs

Indicates the HD display has been tested and found compatible with LodgeNet’s interactive HDTV platform assuming the provision of the appropriate set-top/set-back box or slide-in card from the TV manufacturer.
See List of HD Ready Displays

Indicates the HD display has been tested and found compatible, as purchased, with LodgeNet’s interactive HDTV platform.

About the Program

LodgeNet tests televisions and HD (high-definition) displays submitted by TV vendors for compatibility with specific LodgeNet systems. On successful completion of that testing, LodgeNet provides a report on the testing to the TV vendor, and includes the television or HD display model line on this Web page. The inclusion of a model line means only that LodgeNet tested a single sample provided by the vendor, and that the sample was found to be compatible with the designated LodgeNet system or systems.

• LodgeNet testing results apply only to the sample tested. LodgeNet does not and cannot provide any assurance that the actual television or HD display selected by a hotelier for purchase is electronically and functionally identical for the purpose of LodgeNet compatibility to the model tested. Only the TV vendor can provide that assurance to the hotelier.

Important: Each hotelier considering the purchase of televisions or HD displays for use with a LodgeNet system should require the selected TV vendor to warrant in writing that the model(s) purchased are compatible with the LodgeNet system with which they are to be used, and that the model(s) meet the needs and expectations of the hotel. In addition, each hotelier must make an independent decision with respect to the suitability of a specific television or HD display regarding such matters as ease of use, service life, picture quality and guest satisfaction. Additionally, LodgeNet compatibility testing does NOT consider picture quality. Picture quality is largely a subjective matter, and varies widely among manufacturers. Each hotelier is urged to exercise diligence with respect to its display purchase decisions.
