Embedded b-LAN^TM (EBL) TV Models

b-LAN is a proprietary technology which enables interactivity and secure access to high-definition (HD) programming. EBL TV models listed on this Website have built-in b-LAN technology for HD compatibility with LodgeNet HD Free-To-Guest (FTG) and/or HD Video On Demand / Interactive Television (iTV) systems. In addition, EBL TV models are capable of working with On Command iHDTV systems. These EBL TV models have LodgeNet circuitry embedded into the TV set, and only require the TV be properly configured to turn EBL functionality on. EBL TV models are MPEG-4 capable as well, so they support both MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 program streams. 

• For FTG only sites, no additional in-room hardware is required as the TV manufacturer’s remote control can be used.
• For LodgeNet iTV systems, the only additional in-room hardware required is LodgeNet’s remote control, which must be programmed for proper operation with each specific TV manufacturer.
• For On Command iTV systems, an external Commander set-back box and an On Command remote control are required. The Commander and the remote control need to be programmed for proper operation with each specific TV manufacturer.
• EBL televisions may or may not be able to support IPTV. Please refer to the IPTV Capable list.

HD Capable TV Models

HD Capable TV models listed on this Website are capable of working with LodgeNet or On Command FTG and/or iTV systems. These models typically require the use of external hardware and software to work with LodgeNet or On Command FTG and/or iTV systems. Some of these models are only MPEG-2 capable and do not support MPEG-4 program streams. As there are a wide range of configurations and in-room hardware/software requirements for HD Capable TV models, LodgeNet recommends that you contact our 24-hour Technical Support and Customer Service center to determine installation guidelines prior to making your TV purchase.

IPTV Capable TV Models

IPTV Capable TV models listed on this Website are capable of working with LodgeNet IPTV FTG and/or iTV systems. These models typically require the use of external hardware and software to work with LodgeNet IPTV FTG and/or iTV systems. As there are distinct requirements for these models as well as the IP network, LodgeNet recommends that you contact our 24-hour Technical Support and Customer Service center to determine installation guidelines prior to making your TV purchase.
