LodgeNet Conference Manager Offers Hoteliers Potential Revenue Increases of 50% or More From Conference Networking Services

Easy-To-Use Web Based Interface Puts Non-Technical Hotel Staff In Control

Consistency, Predictability of Fixed Monthly Fee Model Helps Revenue Optimization

LodgeNet Interactive Corporation (NASDAQ: LNET), the leading provider of media and connectivity solutions to the hospitality industry, today announced the release of the LodgeNet Conference Manager, which offers hoteliers unprecedented control over their conference Internet services as well as the potential to greatly increase their share of the revenues from those services.

The LodgeNet Conference Manager gives facilities substantially greater control over the network resources for their meeting rooms and stand-alone convention center facilities.  Using a simple Web based interface, non-technical staff members can schedule conferences, dedicate and manage port-level bandwidth for specific groups, personalize network naming conventions, create custom passwords, assign public or private IP addresses and much more.

“Traditionally, hoteliers have had two options for managing their meeting and conference connectivity services.  They can contract with a third party and give up anywhere from 20 to 50% of the revenues, or staff a full-time network administrator at an average cost of almost $70,000 a year,” said Scott E. Young, President of Hospitality for LodgeNet Interactive.  “With the LodgeNet Conference Manager we are offering hoteliers a new alternative:  an easy to use tool that equips the staff they already have to administrate their network resources, set the prices they want and keep a larger percentage of the revenue generated from connectivity services for meetings and conferences.”

Young added that the LodgeNet Conference Manager is offered under a monthly support fee model based on the facility’s square footage.  “With their network management costs known and predictable, hoteliers can focus on maximizing their revenues instead of constantly trying to anticipate them,” he said.

The LodgeNet Conference Manager includes hotel staff training and is backed by LodgeNet’s industry leading service and support organization.  In addition, LodgeNet’s skilled and professional Conference Services division is available to provide pre-conference consultation and on-site support services when needed.
