Systems Engineer I

Sustaining Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for the position
of Systems Engineer I. This is a full-time, exempt position located
in Atlanta, Sioux Falls, or Denver.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primarily responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of the base
of LodgeNet Broadband Solutions High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) and
associated collocation point of presence (POP) equipment. Works closely
with Engineering and Technology Development (ETD) and TechConnect Specialists
in troubleshooting and resolving field issues. Facilitates communication
between the Technical Operations Department (TOD) and ETD.
Candidates considered qualified for the position will possess the following
minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Four-year technical degree or equivalent (BS in Electrical Engineering,
Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Computer
Science, Software Engineering, etc.), and two years relevant experience
or four years equivalent technical experience required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience working in a Hardware or Software Engineering
and/or NOC environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Unix Operating System and Unix scripting experience
is essential.
- Software coding experience, debugging, and databasing experience
preferred.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to prioritize and complete project tasks with minimal
supervision
- Duties may also include some evening and weekend on call status.
