INTERACTIVE & MEDIA NETWORKS is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director, Mobile Products & Services in New York, NY. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Vice President, Interactive & Mobile Applications.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Mobile Products and Services is responsible for the development of LodgeNet’s mobile products and services as well as management of its day-to-day operations. The Director will play a key role in the planning of mobile feature offerings and will be responsible for its app and mobile Web implementation. This will be done in coordination with the group’s VP and its Director of Mobile Revenue and in keeping within the broader context of the Mobile Business Unit’s charter. The Director will solicit input from multiple sources both external and internal to formulate a product roadmap. He/she will work with internal LodgeNet Engineering and Product personnel and will be responsible for sourcing and retaining third-party development partners to ensure timely and accurate feature development. In addition to product development duties the Director will be responsible for day-to-day operations of a curated content recommendation service. Initially, the Director will utilize shared resources to facilitate content acquisition & publishing. The department should grow to incorporate multiple staff members supporting this effort. The Director will be responsible for building and managing this department. The Director will be responsible for the quality preparation of this published content and for its resulting revenue. The Director will manage editorial staff charged with the creation of this service and will report against an annual revenue target. Ultimately, success will be defined by traveler acceptance and interaction with the application/service defined by frequency of use and duration of session engagement (“stickiness”).
Candidates considered qualified for the position will possess the following minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business/Marketing and a minimum of 8 years of evolving Web and or mobile product development/management/marketing experience is required or the equivalent education and/or experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Position requires strong knowledge of state-of-the-art Web and mobile services and current product feature capabilities; this knowledge must be applied within the hospitality and travel sectors to support the company’s overall mobile business goals
- Project execution, employee management, conflict management and time management skills are critical
- Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) as well as a professional code of conduct are essential
- Experience in and knowledge of the mobile industry and mobile apps is required
- Overall technology industry experience is a plus
- Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
